About the Webinar

This webinar is part of TEN’s “Back to Basics” range of webinars which are specifically produced for junior practitioners. This webinar is priced at only $99 as our way of giving back to the profession and providing a cost effective means for firms to provide CPD for junior practitioners.

There is likely to be a number of corporate entities with hidden Division 7A issues that haven’t seen the light of day. For a great deal of these, it may be that the label in the company tax return highlighting the issue, hasn’t been completed or has been completed incorrectly. This session focusses on the reporting of Division 7A and how to determine whether an issue exists, including:

  • What types of payments and benefits can attract Division 7A?
  • What are the tax implications if Division 7A is triggered?
  • How Division 7A can apply to a trust distribution
  • How Division 7A can apply to a company to company to shareholder (or associate) dealing
  • How to tackle potential Division 7A issues
  • Completing the labels in the tax return to disclose Division 7A
  • Why the “distributable surplus” calculation is so important
  • Practical examples
