About the Webinar

The new External Conduct Standards came into effect recently, imposing significant new governance, record-keeping and oversight obligations on charities with activities outside of Australia. The new regulations are wide-ranging and are likely to affect any charity sending money overseas or working with third parties operating outside Australia.

This session examines what the new standards mean for your organisation and how to ensure you are prepared. It covers:

  • Examining the new standards

  • Unpacking the ACNC’s new ECS guidance

  • Identifying appropriate internal control procedures

  • Maintaining adequate records, including expenditure – on a country-by-country basis

  • Monitoring activities of partners and organisations that partners propose to work with – what does this mean in practice?

  • Are you caught out if transferring money to an overseas account of an ACNC registered recipient charity?

  • When will minor activities and small amounts of money be caught?

  • Examples of ways to meet the ECS

  • Compliance and enforcement
